Michael Moushon and Glenn Forsythe of Sounds Like Drums in Boston, MA have produced a new record for mexican recording artist Marie. Michael and Glenn did alot of the writing and performing as well as all the arrangements and recording. After being mixed by Mark Rubel (Alison Krauss, Adrian Belew, Hum) at Pogo Recording Studios in Champaign, IL Dan Stout did the mastering at Colossal Mastering in Chicago, IL. Release in Mexico is scheduled for June of 2007.

Michael Moushons new record has a hit ring to it. He has a genuine pop/rock sensibility and a delivery reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix matched with Bob Dylans charm. Moushons vocals evoke an earnest sadness, they are direct and urgent straining the vocal possibilities to the limit. The songs don't rely strictly on pop hooks. However there are nicely haunting and memorable hooks everywhere! Moushon has a raw Prince like approach to singing. He is adventuresome, organic, funky and musical. Moushon has a deep vocal range with a nice touch of blues. The songs have a momentum that sounds like the audience is being transported right into the middle of the song where the groove is the hottest. Some cuts harken nicely back to Police new wave with echoes of Santana. This project as well as past projects of Moushons are so easy to listen too and I’m sure he will warm the hearts of millions. It really takes me back to the Four seasons and the Beach Boys with some of its perennial sentiments and with the style being so eclectic. Moushon has a memorable uniqueness, is evocative emotionally and makes the kind of music that pulls at the heart strings while giving everybody something to tap their feet or dance to. With the thread of vulnerable sincere earnest vocals combined with substantial production and variety I believe this record is already a success.

So it's been just about a year since the last record and we can't wait any longer. Michael has headed back into the studio with a new lineup and has already started tracking on four new tunes, with more to come over the next few months. Again Michael will be working at Gravity studios with Doug McBride and at Pogo recording studio with Mark Rubel. The anticipated release date is March 1st 2006.
